Does SENTIENT furniture come with a warranty?
Yes. SENTIENT stands behind the quality of every piece we build. If you experience a structural or craftsmanship issue with your furniture, contact us directly and we’ll take care of it. Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions. Because every project is custom, specific warranty terms are discussed during the ordering process so they reflect the scope and nature of your particular piece. What does the SENTIENT warranty cover?
SENTIENT’s warranty covers structural integrity and craftsmanship quality. This includes joinery, material defects, and finish application under normal residential or commercial use. It does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, improper care, or normal wear that comes with daily use, such as minor surface scratches or the natural patina that develops on wood over time. What is SENTIENT’s return policy for custom furniture?
Because all SENTIENT furniture is custom-built to your specifications, we do not offer standard returns or exchanges. This is why we invest significant time in the design and approval phase. You review and approve detailed 3D renderings, material selections, and dimensions before production begins. Nothing gets built until you’re confident in the design. What happens if my furniture is damaged during delivery?
SENTIENT takes full responsibility for your furniture until it’s safely installed in your space. In the rare event of transit damage, we will repair or replace the piece at no additional cost to you. Transit damage is extremely uncommon because we use custom packaging, protective blankets, and custom-built crating for every shipment. Can SENTIENT refinish or restore furniture after years of use?
Yes. Because SENTIENT furniture is built from solid hardwoods with traditional construction, it can be refinished and restored rather than replaced. We can sand, restain, and refinish surfaces to look like new. This applies to tables, desks, credenzas, and any solid wood piece. What should I do if I notice a scratch or surface damage?
For oil-finished surfaces, light scratches can often be addressed at home. Apply a small amount of hardwax oil to the affected area with a soft cloth, following the direction of the grain, and let it absorb. For deeper scratches, lightly sand the area with fine-grit sandpaper and reapply oil. Lacquer and water-based finishes typically require professional attention for visible damage. Can I cancel or modify my order before production starts?
SENTIENT can accommodate changes during the design phase, before production begins. Once you’ve approved the final rendering and fabrication has started, major modifications become more difficult and may affect timeline and cost. Minor adjustments early in production, such as slight dimension changes or finish modifications, are sometimes possible. Does SENTIENT’s warranty transfer if I sell or gift my furniture?
SENTIENT’s craftsmanship commitment extends to the furniture itself, not just the original purchaser. If you sell, gift, or pass down a SENTIENT piece, we’re still available to provide care advice, refinishing services, and support for structural issues.
