Mayo Molnar is a relatively recent transplant to San Francisco, CA. In January 2019 he relocated from London, UK, and established his own boutique interior design & project management firm – Studio Goldfinch. Mayo has worked in the interior design industry for over a decade, successfully completing dozens of multifaceted furniture projects including hospitality, F&B, retail, office, residential, experiential, and pop-ups.
Born and raised in Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital, Mayo came to London in 2006. Exposure to a totally new, infinitely diverse world influenced his interest in various forms of art and design. He started his career at Shaun Clarkson ID, one of the pioneers of UK boutique hospitality furniture. In 2016, after earning his Bachelor of Arts degree at The Open University, Mayo set on his freelance path which then later led him to the USA.
Mayo’s design aesthetic can be characterized as vibrant, current, and full of unmistakable character. He often collaborates with other artists and trade professionals on any given project. The importance is given to practicality and usability. Passion for eclecticism, tasteful luxury, and modern art is recognizable and apparent in all his works.
